About the Program
M.A. in Telugu is a postgraduate degree program in Telugu Literature and Language. The degree program offered by Andhra University covers Telugu literature, drama, Telugu language history, and literary criticism. Candidates having a Master’s degree in Telugu can work as professional elementary teachers or secondary school teachers. The two-year postgraduate degree program is an excellent opportunity for learners to gain an in-depth understanding of the language.
M.A. Telugu is a work-integrated degree program that provides an opportunity for learners to take – Apprenticeship / Internship / Live project / On-the-job training.

Objectives:
- To familiarize the students with the political, religious and cultural life styles of different ages.
- To help the students that how to study the methods of history of literature.
- To introduce the students the origin of various Telugu dialects.
- To demonstrate the practicality of the need of standard language in using in administration.
- To encourage the students to interpret, analyze, evaluate and respond to the ideas about Traditional / Classical Telugu Grammar.
- To enable the students to understand the aims and characteristics of ancient Poetry, Epic, and Grammar Terminology.
- To acquaint the students with the Socio - Political, Cultural and Economic conditions of the ancient days.
