About the Program
The M.A. in Philosophy program at Andhra University is a work-integrated course designed to provide students with a deep understanding of philosophical theories, concepts, and methods. The course aims to equip students with critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving skills, which are highly valued in various fields. Through a blend of theoretical and practical learning, the program prepares students for diverse careers, such as research, teaching, law, public service, and business.
M.A. Philosophy is a work-integrated degree program that provides an opportunity for learners to take – Apprenticeship / Internship / Live project / On-the-job training.

Objectives:
- To develop an analytic outlook and the ability to analyze various situations in life through the study of analytic philosophy.
- To cultivate a logical and critical attitude through the study of logic that enables students to argue and evaluate in a constructive way.
- To foster ethical thinking by introducing moral concepts of good and bad, right and wrong, that form a strong foundation of character and personality.
- To enhance communication skills by developing the capacity to communicate with others, understand issues from different perspectives, and find rational solutions.
- To promote an integrated and holistic view of life and society through the study of philosophy.
- To build overall awareness regarding rights and duties towards the environment, enabling students to become responsible citizens and take initiatives towards environmental protection and sustenance.
